Autumn 1

English

This term we will learn how to write a diary entry and a biography based around the life of nineteenth century slave Henry 'Box' Brown.

During English we looked at how your body reacts to emotions and feelings.

The children enjoyed playing multiples and factor games using dice.

During PSHE, Year 5 looked into how food adverts can be misleading and they created their own adverts.

During Science the children carried out an investigation into whether materials conduct electricity, heat are they magnetic and transparent.

Year 5 carried out an investigation into irreversible change and we created plaster of paris. They quickly realised that it could not be reversed unlike ice and chocolate. If you break a bone don't go to the hospital just knock on the year 5 door. We'll sort you out.

Year 5 created a class number line, then we ordered and compared our numbers. The children could not tell others where they should stand.
