Refugee Narrative and Diary Entries
During this half term we will be using the book ‘Journey’ by Francesca Senna to help us write a refugee narrative and a diary entry.
We will be expanding our vocabulary and practising key spelling rules to improve our writing.
We will also be learning how to effectively use fronted adverbials, verbs, expanded noun phrases and figurative language.
Our classroom door is now a portal into the world of The Journey...
English – Setting descriptions and Newspaper Reports
Children will use ‘The Whale’ by Vita Murrow as inspiration for a range of setting descriptions and newspaper reports.
We will continue to improve our grammatical knowledge this term and we will be recapping on up levelling sentences through using adjectives, adverbs, adverbial phrases and punctuation.
We have been 'hot-seating' our classmates to collect quotes for our newspaper reports about the Great Spotted Whale!
Some of our Year 4's have recieved their pen licenses this week! We are sure there will be many more to follow!
