CHANGING THE WAY PUPILS READ
Our school is using the Reading Plus
program to help your child to become a better reader. Reading Plus
helps pupils to develop the skills they need to be proficient readers and lifelong learners. Through regular Reading Plus
practice, reading will become easier, comprehension will increase, and your child will make meaningful connections between what they are reading and what they are learning. To learn more about Reading Plus

We use the Read, Write Inc. spelling programme to teach spelling in KS2. Pupils will learn a spelling rule by watching a video clip on a Monday and will practice this throughout the week, 8 of the spelling rule words will be sent home to learn and 8 of the statutory spellings for Y5 & Y6. The children are expected to learn these and they will be tested on them on a Friday
