Science

Animals Including Humans

During Spring Term Year One pupils will be exploring a range of animals linked to our topic 'Paws Claws and Whiskers.' They will be identifying and naming a range of domestic and wild animals. They will be sorting animals according to their features and characteristics. Do you know what herbivore, carnivore and omnivore means?  I wonder how many amazing animals we will be able to name when we visit Chester Zoo? Watch this space to find out what we learn about all the wonderful animals throughout this term.

Seasonal Change

During this half term pupils will be developing their knowledge and understanding of ‘Seasonal Change’ and identify key features of Winter and Spring. They will work scientifically to observe changes across the seasons using simple equipment and performing simple tests.  They will observe and describe the weather associated with the seasons and explore how the day length varies. They will gather and record data to help them in answering questions.
